During the installation of Microsoft Office 2007, all Microsoft Office products will be unavailable. The installer will have different install times for every computer. It can take up to a few minutes to a few hours to install. The ideal time for installation would be to start the installation and have it run through the night. Be sure to lock your work station during this time.Check System Requirements for Office 2007 Here are the requirements your computer needs to meet to run Microsoft Outlook 2007:
- Dell Optiplex GX-270 or higher model
- Microsoft Windows XP with Service Pack (SP) 2, Windows Server 2003 with SP1, or later operating system
- 512 MB of RAM or greater
- 2 GB of available hard-disk space

- Right click on My Computer
- Click Properties.
- Click on the General tab.
- The processor speed and amount of RAM will be listed in the lower right corner of the tab.
You need 512 MB of RAM or greater.To determine the amount of free space on your computer:
- Open My Computer.
- Right-Click the local C:\ and go to Properties.
- Click the General tab and look at the free space. For example 47.7 GB free
- Click the red X in the corner to close the windows.
You should have 2 GB or more of free space to run Office 2007.
Installing Microsoft Office 2007
- Open My Computer.
- Open Pcpub on ‘Deptdrive’ (L:).
- Open the Secure Software folder.
- Open the office2007 folder.
- Double click on the “Fac-Staff Install.bat” icon.
A black screen will pop up and then go away when the install is complete.
Your computer may or may not reboot.
