    Using Antivirus Software

    This Quicknote is written as a tool to assist University of Michigan-Flint users with the installation, updating, and using the antivirus software supported by the ITS HelpDesk.

    This includes software for Mac and Windows based machines.


    This Quicknote is written as a tool to assist University of Michigan-Flint faculty and staff in selecting their H: drive (or Homedrive) as the location for their “My Documents” folder. Positioning “My Documents” on the H: drive will reduce the chance of important files and documents ever being loss, should the harddrive in a computer fail. The H: drive is located on the network, and is backed up every night. By placing “My Documents” on the H: Drive you are also making it accessible from more locations. Once you complete the directions below you will be able to access your “My Documents” folder from any computer with access to your H: drive

    This Quicknote is written as a tool to assist the user in setting up a Virtual Private Network from home. Users will then be able to access University resources from home as if they were on campus. 

    This Quicknote is written as a tool to assist the user in setting up a Virtual Private Network from off-campus. Users will then be able to access many University resources, as if they were on campus.
