These steps are for a proxy user that would like to configure their SIS Proxy Access.  This will allow the proxy user to access the student’s SIS account information.  Please note that the student must add your email address as a proxy user using SIS before this process can be started.

Setting Up Your SIS Proxy Account as a Proxy

1. Check your email for an email from itshelpdesk@umflint.edu with the subject New Proxy Identity.
2. This email will contain a link and PIN that will allow you to set up your SIS Proxy account.  Click that link.
3. After clicking the link you will be taken to a webpage that will ask for your Action Password.  In the text field type the PIN that is in the previous email and click Submit.
4. You will then be asked to reset your PIN.
5. In the text fields that appear enter your email address, old PIN (from the email), new PIN, validate new PIN, then click save.
6. You will then be taken to the SIS Proxy Access Login Screen.

Conclusion

Your Proxy Access has been setup, you will now be able to access the student information you have been authorized to view.  The next step is to view the students information in SIS Proxy Access.

These steps are for students that would like to view the access history and communication history of their SIS proxy.

Logging into SIS Proxy Access

1. Navigate to https://sis.umflint.edu/ in any web browser.
2. Login using your uniqname and LAN password.
3. From the tabs at the top of the page, click the Proxy Access tab or, from the Main Menu, choose Proxy Access.

   

4. From the Proxy Access Menu, click Proxy Management.

   

Viewing the SIS Proxy Access History

1. From the Proxy List, click the yellow arrow to expand the Proxy.
2. Click the History Tab to see the history of your authorizations for this proxy.

Viewing the SIS Proxy Access Communication History

1. From the Proxy List click the yellow arrow to expand the Proxy.
2. Click the Communications Tab to see the history of your authorizations for this proxy.

Conclusion

You are now able to view the access history and communication history of your SIS proxy.

These steps are for students that would like to reset their SIS Proxy’s PIN.

Changing SIS PIN for Proxy

1. In order for the Proxy to change their SIS PIN, they will need to contact the student directly or click the forgot PIN link.

Logging into SIS Proxy Access

1. Navigate to https://sis.umflint.edu/ in any web browser.
2. Login using your uniqname and LAN password.
3. From the tabs at the top of the page, click the Proxy Access tab or, from the Main Menu, choose Proxy Access.

   

4. From the Proxy Access Menu, click Proxy Management.

   

Resetting Proxy SIS PIN

1. From the Proxy List click the yellow arrow to expand the Proxy.

   

2. Click the Reset PIN option located near the bottom of the proxy profile.

   

    

3. The page will refresh and state that an email has been sent to the Proxy.

   

4. The Proxy will receive an email containing a temporary PIN and link.

   

5. Once the Proxy clicks the link they will be directed to a log in screen.

   

6. The Proxy will need to enter their email address and temporary pin and press login.

   

    

7. The Proxy will then be prompted to change their password. They will need to enter their email address, old PIN (temporary PIN), a new PIN, and then confirm new PIN, then press save.
   

1. Navigate to https://sis.umflint.edu/ in any web browser.
2. Login using your uniqname and LAN password.
3. From the tabs at the top of the page, click the Proxy Access tab or, from the Main Menu, choose Proxy Access.
   
4. From the Proxy Access Menu, click Proxy Management.

 Sending an SIS Proxy a List of Access Via Email

1. From the Proxy List, click the yellow arrow to expand the Proxy.
2. Click the Authorization tab.
3. From the right side of the authorization tab click E-mail Authorizations.

Conclusion

After completing these steps your proxy will receive an email with a list of information that you have authorized them to view.

Before a proxy can access student information, the student will need to add the proxy and authorize the proxy to view information in SIS.  The proxy will also need to complete the SIS Proxy Access account setup prior to accessing student data.

Logging Into SIS Proxy Access

1. Using your web browser, navigate to http://my.umflint.edu.
2. From the tabs on the page, click Parents, Family & Alumni.
3. From the Parents, Family & Alumni menu, click SIS Proxy Access.
4. On the Proxy Access Login page type your E-mail Address and PIN and click Login.

Accessing Student Information in SIS Proxy Access

1. From the Proxy Access Home page, click on the tab with the name of the student you wish to see records for.
2. You will then see a list of Proxy Authorizations.
3. Click on the item that you would like to see.

These steps are for students that would like to resend the Proxy account activation link.

Logging into SIS Proxy Access

1. Navigate to https://sis.umflint.edu/ in any web browser.
2. Login using your uniqname and LAN password.
3. From the tabs at the top of the page, click the Proxy Access tab or, from the Main Menu, choose Proxy Access.
4. From the Proxy Access Menu, click Proxy Management.

Resending Proxy account activation link

1. From the Proxy List, click the yellow arrow to expand the Proxy.
2. Click the Communication tab located to the right.
    
3. Locate the log titled “New proxy identity”
   
4. Click the icon in the “resend” column that is associated with the “New proxy identity”
    
5. The Proxy will receive an email containing a temporary PIN and link which they may then use to create their Proxy account.

Conclusion

You have completed the process of resending the Proxy account activation email.

These steps are for students that would like to add an SIS Proxy user.  This will allow the SIS Proxy to access the student’s SIS account information.

Logging into SIS Proxy Access

1. Navigate to https://sis.umflint.edu/ in any web browser.
2. Login using your uniqname and LAN password.
3. Using the tabs at the top of the page, click Proxy Access or, from the Main Menu, choose Proxy Access.

   

4. From the Proxy Access Menu, click Proxy Management.

   

Adding an SIS Proxy User

1. From the Proxy List click Add Proxy.

   

2. In the text fields that appear enter the First Name, Last Name, Email Address, and Verify Email Address then click Add Proxy.

   

3. You will then see your proxy in the Proxy List.

   

4. From the Proxy List click the yellow arrow to expand the Proxy.

   

5. From the Proxy Profile complete the following fields: Relationship, Description, Start Date, and End Date.

   

Conclusion

You have now successfully added an SIS Proxy User to your account.  The next step is to authorize your proxy to view your student information in SIS.

Creating an SIS Proxy user will give the proxy access to personal and confidential information that is protected under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).  Before you can create a proxy relationship you will need to agree to the FERPA Authorization terms.  If you have not agreed to the FERPA Authorization terms, when you log into SIS Proxy Access you will be directed to the FERPA Authorization agreement.

After reading the FERPA Authorization agreement, at the bottom of the agreement, check the box next to I Agree to the Above Terms and click Submit.  Your FERPA Authorization will then be recorded and you will be directed to SIS Proxy Access.

These steps are for students that would like to modify the privileges their SIS Proxy user has.  This will allow the SIS Proxy to access the student’s SIS account information.

Logging into SIS Proxy Access

1. Navigate to https://sis.umflint.edu/ in any web browser.
2. Login using your uniqname and LAN password.
3. Using the tabs at the top of the page, click Proxy Access or from the Main Menu, choose Proxy Access.
   
4. From the Proxy Access Menu click Proxy Management.

Modifying SIS Proxy User Access Privileges

1. Next to the name of the proxy you wish to modify, click the Expand arrow.
2. From the expanded profile, click the Authorization Tab. 
3. From the Page Authorization menu, check the items that you would like to share with your proxy.

Sending Your Proxy a List of Authorizations Via Email

1. From the tabs under the proxy’s name click Authorization.
2. The Page Authorization Menu will appear.  On the right, click E-mail Authorizations.
