Using PaperCut Print Queuing System on Campus

Overview

ITS has 5 open labs on campus.

  • 206 Murchie Science Building (Helpdesk Technicians Available During Lab Hours)
  • 205 French Hall (This lab is not staffed, Mcard is required for access)
  • 3174 William S. White Building (Helpdesk Technicians Available During Lab Hours)
  • 2nd Floor Riverfront (This lab is not staffed but is open 24 hours, Mcard is required for access)
  • All 3 floors of the Frances Willson Thompson Library (Computers are available any time the library is open.)

Instructional labs, available for reservation, run by ITS are located at 501 and 507 MSB, 3153, 3175, and 3176 WSW, and 459 FH.

Other ITS printing stations are located on 3rd Floor of the UCEN in the Student Life Loft, within the Academic Advising Loft in the University Pavilion, and in the front lobby of 1st Street Residence Hall.

How To Print

  • Open or Create your document as you normally would.
  • Click Print.
  • Select the printer appropriate for the type of printing you are doing and click OK.
    • Black and White Prints: \papercut\MAIN
    • Color Prints: \papercut\MAIN-COLOR
      • In some labs the color printer will be listed as \papercut\(RoomNumber)_Color
        • Example: \papercut\MSB206_Color

 

Releasing the Job to the Printer Using The Release Station

  • Locate the release station(s) in the lab you are in.
  • Login to the PaperCut site using your uniqname and LAN password.
  • Click Login.

    You should now see your print jobs listed on the screen.

  • Click Release found next to your print job to send your print job to the printer. 

 To cancel the jobs that have been sent to the printer click Cancel All in the top left of the screen.

  • Your Print should now be available on the printer next to the release station.
  • Click Done in the bottom right of the screen to logout of the release station.
