Backing up favorites in Internet Explorer
Exporting favorites from Internet Explorer
- Click File in menu bar.
- If you do not see the menu bar, press the ALT key on the keyboard while in Internet Explorer.
- Click Import and Export… in file menu

- When the Import/Export Wizard opens, click next

- Select Export Favorites then click Next

- Select the Favorites folder then click Next

- Select Export to a File or Address and choose a location to save the file to then click Next.

- Click Finish.

- If everything has exported correctly, you will see a confirmation dialog box. Click OK.

You should now have a backup of your favorites saved in the previously selected location. Be sure to keep this in a safe location for importing to Internet Explorer at a later date.
Importing favorites into Internet Explorer
- Click File in menu bar.
- If you do not see the menu bar, press the ALT key on the keyboard while in Internet Explorer.
- Click Import and Export… in file menu.

- When the Import/Export Wizard opens, click next

- Select Import Favorites then click Next.

- Select Import from a File or Address then click Browse

- The Select Bookmark File window will open. Navigate to the location of the file you exported from the export wizard (default : bookmarks.htm), select the file and click open.

- Select the Favorites folder then click Next.

- Click Finish.

- If everything has imported correctly, you will see a confirmation dialog box. Click OK.
Your favorites are now imported into Internet Explorer.
