Student Clubs and Service

"Students who play an active role in clubs and student organizations, and who participate in service generally achieve at a higher academic level and are more likely to reach their long-term goals.” Comment from a graduate school director.

Honors Student Council: Link to Honors Student Council. All honors students are members. Each year has a representative. Students undertake service projects such as Habitat for Humanity and educational trips to places such as Montreal, Toronto, Chicago, Mackinaw Island.

•Honors Program Service: Students not only have the intrinsic award of service, but are eligible for a series of Service Awards for service to the Honors Program.

Student Government: Many honors students participate in student government as a means to make their voices heard among members of the administration.

Student Newspaper: The student newspaper is a good place to contribute articles, poetry, and reports. Past honors students have acted as reporters, and as the newspaper editor.

University-wide Clubs: More than 40 student clubs cover a wide variety of interest from the Pre-Med Club to the Greek Site, and numerous other organizations.
