University of Michigan-Flint Honors Scholar Program

Why choose the University of Michigan-Flint Honors Program?

  • We have a high level of success. Our graduates have been accepted in the most prestigious graduate and professional schools in the country, and 100% of honors program students applying to medical schools, graduate schools, and professional schools have been accepted.

  • The highlight of the program is the opportunity to travel in the summer of your junior or senior year to a campus in the United States, Canada, or abroad, to do research and develop a special project. You are eligible to receive up to $3,000 in funding to cover your expenses for this project.

  • Since 1979, more than 200 students have traveled to 23 countries and numerous states, and have undertaken collaborative undergraduate research projects, working one-on-one with professors at the University of Michigan-Flint and abroad

  • We offer numerous opportunities for working one-on-one with professors in your field doing research and developing conference presentations. Over 40 honors student present at undergraduate and pforessional conferences each year.

  • We avoid add-on courses. Our four core courses in the freshman and sophomore years are integrated into the regular curriculum. They fulfill university-wide general education requirements that are necessary for your degree.
