Live in the heart of the action!

You can be a resident on a great campus! Living on campus is the ideal place to study, relax, and make friendships that last a lifetime. If you have an interest in Housing, please complete the application.  Upon receipt of your application we will contact you through your UM-Flint email address regarding your next steps in the process.

There are three different services available in SIS:

  • Housing Application = allows you to apply for housing
  • Housing Contract = allows you to sign your contract
  • Housing Deposit = $300.00 required deposit applied directly to your student account

Admitted students may complete the housing application and sign your housing contract on-line. The first thing you need to do is sign into the Student Information System (SIS). Once you have you signed in, click on the tab labeled Student Services at the top of the page.  If it is the first time that you are signing into SIS, you will need to answer the Student Authorizations questions and hit the submit button. You will then click on Housing & Residential Life on the left hand side. If you have not been admitted, click on this link for Admissions.

An email notification is sent to new students through your UM-Flint email address in April that the contract is available for signature. Once you sign your contract you may view it any time by returning to your SIS account.

If you are under age 18, please contact Housing & Residential Life at 810-237-6571 regarding signing your contract.

Housing Deposit

All new applicants are required to pay a $300.00 housing deposit within two weeks of signing the housing contract..

The deposit must be paid within two weeks of signing your housing contract. how do they pay? The $300 deposit is credited toward your total housing cost and is not an additional fee. This deposit secures your room and room assignments will be given priority based on the when the housing deposit is paid. If the deposit is not paid within two weeks, you will be put on a waiting list for room availability until the deposit is paid.

*Returning on-campus housing residents still must complete a housing application and sign a housing contract, but the deposit is waived for the 2016-17 academic year for those already living in residence halls.
