Eligibility and Expectations

The Front Desk (FD) Staff and Office Staff Member position is essential to the success of the students living in the residence hall.  The Office of Housing and Residential Life is committed to building strong, inclusive communities within the residence hall and the FD Staff and Office Staff Members assist in making that happen.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

·         Be a full or part-time University of Michigan - Flint student

·         Be available for employment beginning September 1, 2009 until April 30, 2010

·         Work rotating midnight, early morning and weekend shifts

·         Work 3 hour blocks which is equivalent to 1 shift

·         Friendly, responsible, personable, service-oriented attitude

·         Positive and professional work attitude

·         Punctual and reliable

·         Work as part of a team

·         Attend Front Desk Staff and Office Staff Members Fall Training Wednesday, August 19, 2009 until Friday, August 21, 2009*

           *Accommodations can be made for staff members who do not live in the Flint Area. 

·         Attend Front Desk Staff Members and Office Staff Meetings every 1st and 3rd Fridays from 10:00am until 12:00pm. 

Time Commitment

FD’s will work a minimum of 6 hours per week. Individual FD’s hours may be more or less depending on their availability. The front desk is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week when the Residence Hall is open and as a result FD Staff Members must to be available to work during nights and weekends as needed.

Fall Training Dates

Front Desk (FD) Staff will be required to begin training on Wednesday August 19, 2009 until Friday, August 21, 2009 between 9:00am until 6:00pm*. 

*Accommodations can be made for staff members who do not live in the Flint Area.
