*  Residents who have completed at least 55 credits or are a graduate student at the end of winter term, could qualify for option 3.  There are a limited number of option 3 plans available.

Block Meals can be used at Riverview Dining.  Each time a resident eats at Riverview Dining it is considered one Block Meal.  Residents can also use Block Meals at the Grill on the 3rd floor UCEN for specified combo meals.  Block Meals expire on the last day of final exams each semester. Block Meals may not be transferred to another type of meal plan and are non-refundable. There is no daily/weekly limits on the number of Block Meals a resident can use and they may be used for guests, the resident must be present to swipe their M-Card for the transaction.

Dining Dollars can be used at all Dining Services locations on the 3rd floor UCEN.  Dining Dollars will roll over from the fall semester to the winter semester.  Dining Dollars expire on the last day of final exams for the winter semester. Dining Dollars may not be transferred to another type of meal plan and are non-refundable.

Dining dollars are monies that can be used as a declining balance in the Grill, at the cafe and at any of the three information desk. You may use these when you do not want a full meal. For example, you could just purchase a sandwich or just purchase a drink, etc. Option one gives you more dining dollars than option two.

Flint Blue Bucks can be used at all Dining Services locations on the 3rd floor UCEN, First Street Residence Hall laundry and First Street Residence Hall vending, UCEN Information Center, Theatre Information Center and WSW Information Center.  Flint Blue Bucks will roll over from the fall semester to the winter semester.  Flint Blue Bucks expire on the last day of final exams for the winter semester. Flint Blue Bucks may not be transferred to another type of meal plan and are non-refundable.

Blue Bucks are monies that can be used in the vending machines located on the first floor of the residence hall or for any of the laundry machines in the building. Both meal plans use the same number of Blue Bucks.

Option one is for students that want less full meals and prefer more grab and go items. This is reflected by less block meals and more dining dollars.

Option two is for students that want more full meals and want less grab and go items. This is reflected by more block meals and less dining dollars.

The block meals, dining dollars, and blue bucks are all used by swiping your M-Card at each of the locations that accept meal plans.

Meal plan changes

Residents may change their meal plan option for the winter semester.  This change must happen prior to the date the meal plan for winter semester begins. Meal plans may not be changed mid-semester.  Residents may only change their meal plan once in an academic year.  To change a meal plan option, residents contact Event and Building Services in room 176 UCEN during the week of the fall semester exams.
