Primary Responsibilities:
Provides overall direction, consultation, policy administration and compliance for staff and academic human resources for University Human Resources staff. Partners with campus leadership to provide strategic planning on matters related to HR and advancing the mission of the University of Michigan-Flint.  Provides supervision and planning, campus communications, professional development, compensation and salary programs, grievances, Standard Practice Guide and bargained-for interpretations.

Primary Responsibilities:
Provides overall direction, consultation, policy administration and compliance for benefits (faculty and staff), academic employee relations (tenure track, clinical, LEO, supplemental, GSRA and GSI/GSSA).  Partners with Academic HR and academic units regarding academic strategy and planning related to academic HR matters.  Consults and investigates academic employee relations, recruitment assistance, reclassifications/equity reviews, and HR related compliance concerns.  Oversees processing of faculty appointments, supplemental pay, LEO Professional Development Funds, Standard Practice Guide and bargained-for (LEO) interpretations.  Provides supervision to part of the HR Service Team and partners with academic units to provide planning, campus communications, compensation reviews, grievances and Standard Practice Guide interpretations. 
Designated areas include:  All academic units across the campus for the primary purpose of academic HR matters.

Provides overall direction, consultation, and policy administration for staff under the designated areas*.  Consults and investigates matters regarding employee relations, recruitment assistance, reclassifications, salary reviews, harassment intake and HR related compliance concerns.  Primary contact for Children on Campus policy, administration and compliance.  Manages employee grievances, disciplinary review conferences and other related employee and department relation matters for staff and bargained-for staff on campus.  Provides supervision to part of the HR Service Team and partners with all units to provide planning, campus communications, compensation reviews, grievances and Standard Practice Guide interpretations.

Provides overall direction, consultation, and policy administration for staff under the designated areas*.   Provides consultation and investigates matters regarding employee relations, recruitment assistance, reclassifications, salary reviews, harassment intake and HR related compliance concerns.  Primary contact for DPS Oversight Committee.  Manages employee grievances, disciplinary review conferences and other related employee and department relation matters for staff.  Trained campus mediator and back-up intake for Institutional Equity Specialist.   Serves on campus All Hazards Team and the Behavioral Intervention Team.  Certified campus mediator.  Provides answers to complex and general HR questions.

Provides design, development, implementation and evaluation of professional development programs and initiatives.  Develops resources, tools and customized training designed to enhance performance management.  Provides consultation and partnership with all campus areas in support of professional growth and development.  Partners with units and areas of the campus and University wide system to provide easier access and clear information related to the opportunities of professional development and self growth.  Special projects as assigned.

Primary Responsibilities:
Provides information, consultation, training and resources to the campus community with regard to sexual harassment, discrimination prevention, affirmative action, equal opportunity, employee diversity and disability matters.  Provides individual consultation with campus community managers, supervisors, staff, faculty, students and administrators.  Conducts neutral investigation for all complaints of harassment and discrimination, support for Campus’ compliance efforts in the areas of equal opportunity, harassment and discrimination prevention and compliance with all applicable State and Federal civil rights laws.  Certified campus mediator.

Provides Benefits Counseling and Benefit Problem Resolution for Active Faculty and Staff, Retirees and Survivors.  Conducts New Employee Orientation for faculty and staff.  Manages the sick time process for Medical Absences and Pay Administration for faculty and staff.  Manages the HR process for Tuition Support Program (staff, GSRA and GEO) and Dependent Child Tuition Scholarship Program.  Provides campus Benefit Presentations. General HR Questions, Notary Public.

Primary EPC (Employment Process Coordinator) for Faculty postings managing the posting through hire process for all academic units.  Manages appointment and payroll correction requests for faculty and regular staff appointments.  Acts as liaison for the M-Pathways Access request process for campus employees, HR Unit Liaison and main contact for HRRIS (Ann Arbor) processing relating to these matters.  Manages problem resolution for payroll and appointment processing.  Provides standard and customized reports for HR including reports for campus departments.  Manages the LEO appointment upload process and assists with the LEO Professional Development Fund process.  Assists with the processing and verification of the salary program/merit process each year.  Special projects as assigned.  General HR questions, Notary Public.
