Holiday and Season Days 2007
The information below, regarding extended hours exceptions, holidays, season days and days of special observances, is designed to assist departments and individuals in their planning efforts for the remainder of this year and the coming year.
It is important to remember that all offices need to observe their normal schedules except for the days listed below. Deans, directors and supervisors are strongly encouraged to make every effort to grant vacation requests during the holiday season, to the extent that the department hours of operation and needs are met. The schedule for this year, and all of 2007, is as follows:

*Flexibility needs to be given in scheduling the four season days for those departments required to remain open. The four season days can be declared between from November 5, 2006 to January 15, 2007 for the 2006 season days and from November 12, 2007 to January 21, 2008 for the 2007 season days.
Because days other than University designated holidays may have special significance to faculty and staff, up to three holidays of their choice may be substituted for any three of the designated holidays above. Written notification of substitution must be provided and approved by the dean, director or supervisor by July 1 of that year.
A reminder notice of these days will be sent from the Human Resources & Affirmative Action Office one week prior to each observance. The information listed above will be available on the HRAA-Flint web site at http://vca.umflint.edu/hr/ to view throughout the year.
Any questions regarding scheduling, flex time, impact on union employees or offices with 24 hours / 7 day shifts should be directed to the Office of Human Resources & Affirmative Action at 762-3150.
