Conversation Partner Program

Conversation partners
Program Description
The Conversation Partner Program is sponsored by the English Language Program (ELP). It pairs international students with students, faculty, or staff members of the University of Michigan- Flint community. Participants sign an agreement to meet for 1-2 hour(s) per week on campus for informal conversation for the entire semester. 



How to Apply
Interested students and/or staff may visit the International Center (219 University Center) for an application.

Information
Program participants will receive the program guidelines, community service information, and topics of conversation at an initial meeting with the ELP Director. Partners are introduced at a preliminary meeting.

Benefits
The benefits of this program are twofold: international students improve their command of English and the students, faculty, and staff members of UM-Flint develop a deeper understanding of new and fascinating cultures.
