The Global Intercultural Experience for Undergraduates (GIEU)

UM-Flint students have the opportunity to participate in a number of study abroad exchange programs through UM-Dearborn. They include:

Canada—Ottawa: Public Affairs/Political Science Internship

Description:  Political interns work as staff aides to members of Parliament in their offices for five weeks.  It is a paid internship and interns earn three hours of Political Science credit.

Italy—Padua: International Summer Program in Management

Program Name: International Summer Program in Management (ISPM)-Italy

Who may enroll: All UM-Dearborn & UM-Flint students

Description of Location(s): Padua, which is near Venice, is a charming small city full of winding lanes and beautiful ancient buildings. Padua is world famous for its art and the University of Padua, which is the second oldest university in the world. Because it has contained a large university for over 1000 years, Padua is very student friendly.

Duration: May 2, 2009 - June 12, 2009

Sweden—Jonkoping Engineering and Computer Science Programs

Description: Engineering and computer science students may study for up to one year at the

School of Engineering in Jönköping University in Jönköping, Sweden as part of a student exchange program. 

Technical courses are taught in English.  Students pay tuition at UM-D.

Germany—Ulm: Engineering and Computer Science Programs 

Description:  Hochschule Ulm University of Applied Sciences  CECS students may study for two months at Hochschule Ulm University of Applies Sciences.  Students pay tuition at UM-D. UM-D financial aid and UM-D scholarships apply to the program.
