Winter Semester 2016

A series of Candid Campus Conversations were held during the Winter Semester of 2016. These included the topics: Asian American and Latino American Experiences, Arab American and African American Experiences, What is Whiteness to you? What is Blackness to you?, and Multicultural and Bicultural Experiences.

African American History Month

Winter Semester 2016

African American History Month 2016 was celebrated with a variety of events throughout the month, including UM-Flint's second annual Africa Week. The Intercultural Center helped to co-organize events for the month such as a play, a few film viewings, An African American Storytelling event for families, a Candid Campus Conversation, and a special performance and interview with award winning opera singer Kisma Jordan. A complete list of events can be found on the African American History Month 2016 page.

More Than a Day 2016 was celebrated with a variety of event and volunteer opportunities. The featured Keynote speakers were Dr. James Chaffers and Naomi Tutu.

Native American Heritage Month

Fall Semester 2015

Native American Heritage Month 2015 was celebrated with a variety of events including a documentary film viewing, family concert with Joe Reilly, and a Candid Campus Conversation to discuss the de-colonization of native, indigenous and tribal populations.
