Build your English skills on campus.

For students requiring additional English language coursework to meet UM-Flint admission requirements, we offer our convenient on-campus English Language Program (ELP). An intensive and accelerated program, ELP provides students the opportunity to strengthen reading, vocabulary, writing, grammar, and communication skills needed to succeed in university-level courses at UM-Flint.

Led by dedicated TESOL-trained instructors with experience living and teaching abroad, ELP classes are small and supportive. In addition to stronger academic skills, ELP students enjoy access to a wide range of cultural activities designed to introduce them to university and social life in the United States. ELP is also a great option for family members accompanying international students who wish to learn English but do not plan to pursue a degree at UM-Flint. Visit the ELP website.
