About KHU

Kadir Has University (KHU) was founded in 1997, in Istanbul. The university, with its six faculties of Engineering, Sciences and Humanities, Economics and Administrative Sciences, Communication, Law and Fine Arts, as well as its several vocational schools, is dedicated to becoming a leader in educational and cultural fields in Turkey, as well as establishing itself as an international center for research and scientific development. The central tenet of Kadir Has University’s philosophy is to produce students who are self-confident, who question, who consider all perspectives and evaluate them without prejudice, and who are open to the winds of change. KHU wants students to see that as successful scholars and fulfilled individuals, they are the leaders of our society.

Program Cost

Students pay regular UM-Flint tuition and fees. Airfare, passport/visa, local transportation, and housing are additional expenses that will vary.

Eligibility & Prerequisites

  • All undergraduate students from any discipline are permitted to participate.
  • 2.5 GPA minimum
  • Must have completed at least two major terms

 

Housing and Living Costs

KHAS offers accommodation in fully-equipped residence halls located close to the main campus.    Students can choose to stay in single or double rooms. KHAS also helps students find off-campus    accommodation in shared apartments. Students are required to apply for housing as soon as possible.
 
Students can expect to spend between $1,100 - $1,500 per month depending on accommodations and    lifestyle. Some monthly expenses include:

  • Accommodation: Approximately $500- $650 per month
  • Meals: Approximately $420 - $550 per month
  • Local transportation: Approximately $50 per month
  • Other expenses: Approximately $100 - $250 per month

UM-Flint students are also required to submit a separate Application for Exchange & Agreement and a Release Form and forms to the Office of Study Abroad.
