International Student Organization (ISO)

About ISO

There are many student clubs and organizations on campus you have the opportunity to belong to.  The International Student Organization is an organization that will welcome you immediately upon your arrival to UM-Flint.

In the winter of 2000, Isabela Lalinde founded the ISO, at the time an International Student from Colombia, South America.   After her graduation, she continues to be involved with the ISO Alumni Chapter.

The group offers help and support to each other.  Friendships are formed; resource information is shared. Birthdays, holidays and special occasions are celebrated. The students participate in many on and off campus volunteer experiences.  They have taken many field trips- including to Cedar Point Amusement Park in Ohio and overnight trips to Chicago, Illinois, and New York City, NY.

This opportunity to get to know people from many different cultures is a valuable part of your University experience.  Lasting friendships and networks have been formed because of the student involvement in ISO.

For more details about the International Student Organization, contact the current ISO President or talk with any of the current International Students.  There is an ISO Bulletin Board located in the International Student Center for meeting times and current projects.
