Before your Banner Id is created you must first complete our online Banner Training. The required Banner General Navigation training is available in the form of a self-paced online Blackboard course and should take you less than an hour to complete. To enroll in the course, go to https://umflint.gosignmeup.com. Click on the UM-Flint Faculty and Staff, then click on ITS Training and add “Banner Training” to cart. At Checkout, you will be asked to enter your User Name and Password use your UM-Flint email and password. Faculty and Staff should NOT need to create a new account. You should receive an email once you are enrolled in the course with a link to access the course. To access the course, Login to Blackboard at https://bb.umflint.edu and then look for Banner Training under My Courses.
Once you have successfully completed this tutorial and your online Access Request form (https://go.umflint.edu/BannerSISAccess) has been received, your ID request will enter the approval process. Due to multiple authorizations required (Department Chair/Director) as well as all respective data stewards, it may take up to two weeks before Banner/SIS access is granted. After all the approvals are received your Banner ID is created and you will receive an email regarding your Banner account and how to access Banner.

This is a general navigation Banner training, since procedures and standards vary from office to office, each department/unit on campus is responsible for training their employees in more specific uses of Banner modules and giving the individual the necessary training to do their job.
