Banner Graduation Information Reports

Introduction:

This Quicknote is intended to supplement Quicknote 36 in assisting UM-Flint Banner Users with Graduation Information reports in the ssem2000 database. Graduation Information allows users to retrieve anticipated and/or awarded degree information based on term, college, and major criteria.  Please refer to  Quicknote 36  for instructions on opening the database and information about other types of reports contained in it.

Graduation Information:

After opening the ssem2000 database, double-click on the Graduation Information form in the database window.

Important information about this data: Graduation records since 1987 are retrievable; however records prior to 1987 are generally not available electronically. Addresses and phone numbers may not be current. You may contact the Alumni Office for additional information regarding graduates.

For each of the Graduation Information reports, users have the option to print the report or download it to a file.  Users will see two columns of buttons in the Graduation Information form.  Both columns contain the same reports.  The first column, titled Reports, will allow users to view the report on the screen and print it using the print icon on the toolbar.  The second column, titled Download Files, will extract the data to a file saved on your local hard drive.  Below are details about the various Graduation Information reports.

The following reports are available in the Graduation Information form.

¨       Anticipated Graduates (all) for Selected Term

¨       Anticipated Graduates (for select COLLEGE) for Selected Term

¨       Anticipated Graduates (for select MAJOR) for Selected Term

¨       Awarded Degrees (all) for Selected Term

¨       Awarded Degrees (for select COLLEGE) for Selected Term

¨       Awarded Degrees (for select MAJOR) for Selected term

¨       Awarded Degrees for Selected MAJOR(s) all terms


 

 


 

The following reports are available in the Graduation Information form.

Anticipated Graduates (all) for Selected Term

In this report, the user will specify the anticipated graduation term and retrieve an alphabetized list of all students who are planning to graduate for that term.  Output includes name, ID, address, phone, email, gender, ethnicity, level, degree, major(s), concentration(s),  minor(s) and overall GPA.

To run this report:

1.      Select Term

2.      Click on Anticipated Graduates (all) for Selected Term

3.      The report will then begin to run.  If you chose to view the report it will be displayed on the screen and can be printed using the print icon on the toolbar.  If you chose to create a file, you will be prompted for the output file type, file name and location.  An ‘Export Complete’ message will display when your file has been saved.

Anticipated Graduates (for select COLLEGE) for Selected Term

In this report, the user will select a graduation term and specific college code in order to retrieve an alphabetized list of all students within that college who are planning to graduate for the selected term.  (A list of valid college codes can be viewed by clicking on the down arrow in the box under Display College Codes).  Output includes name, ID, address, phone, email, gender, ethnicity, level, degree, major(s), concentration(s), minor(s) and overall GPA.

To run this report:

1.      Select Term

2.      Click on Anticipated Graduates (for select COLLEGE) for Selected Term

3.      Enter the two character college code (in all caps)

4.      The report will then begin to run.  If you chose to view the report it will be displayed on the screen and can be printed using the print icon on the toolbar.  If you chose to create a file, you will be prompted for the output file type, file name and location.  An ‘Export Complete’ message will display when your file has been saved.

 

Anticipated Graduates (for select MAJOR) for Selected Term

In this report, the user will select a graduation term and up to 3 major codes in order to retrieve an alphabetized list off all students within the major(s) who are planning to graduate for the selected term.  (A list of valid major codes can be viewed by clicking on the down arrow in the box under Display Major Codes).  Output includes name, ID, address, phone, email, gender, ethnicity, level, degree, major(s), concentration(s), minor(s) and overall GPA.

To run this report:

1.      Select Term

2.      Click on Anticipated Graduates (for select MAJOR) for Selected Term

3.      When prompted, Enter the 1st major code (in all caps) and press <Enter>

4.      When prompted, Enter the 2nd major code (in all caps) and press <Enter>, if no other major is desired just press <Enter>

5.      When prompted, Enter the 3rd      major code (in all caps) and press <Enter>, if no other major is desired just press <Enter>

6.      The report will then begin to run.  If you chose to view the report it will be displayed on the screen and can be printed using the print icon on the toolbar.  If you chose to create a file, you will be prompted for the output file type, file name and location.  An ‘Export Complete’ message will display when your file has been saved.

Awarded Degrees (all) for Selected Term

In this report, the user will specify the graduation term and retrieve an alphabetized list of all students who were awarded degrees for that term.  Output includes name, ID, address, phone, email, gender, ethnicity, level, degree, major(s), concentration(s), minor(s), overall GPA, honors and deceased indicator.

To run this report:

1.      Select Term

2.      Click on Awarded Degrees (all) for Selected Term

Awarded Degrees for Selected MAJOR(s) all terms

In this report, users can specify up to 3 major codes and retrieve an alphabetized list of all students in those major(s) that have been awarded degrees since 1987; records prior to 1987 are generally not available electronically.  (A list of valid major codes can be viewed by clicking on the down arrow in the box under Display Major Codes).  Output includes name, ID, address, phone number, graduation date, level, major, and deceased notification.

To run this report:

1.      Click on Awarded Degrees for Selected MAJOR(s) all terms or Create File of Awarded Degrees for Selected MAJORS(s) all terms

2.      When prompted, Enter the 1st major code (in all caps) and press <Enter>

3.      When prompted, Enter the 2nd major code (in all caps) and press <Enter>, if no other major is desired just press <Enter>

4.      When prompted, Enter the 3rd      major code (in all caps) and press <Enter>, if no other major is desired just press <Enter>

5.      The report will then begin to run.  If you chose to view the report it will be displayed on the screen and can be printed using the print icon on the toolbar.  If you chose to create a file, you will be prompted for the output file type, file name and location.  An ‘Export Complete’ message will display when your file has been saved.
