4/27/2007

Multiple network services will be unavailable starting at 8pm Thursday May 3rd. 

Blackboard, home and departmental drives will be available until 10pm Thursday night. These services will be returned to normal operation by the end of the normal maintenance window Friday May 4th at 6am.

Homedrives will again be unavailable all day Saturday May 5th, from midnight until midnight.

All Uniprint stations located in various locations across campus will be shut down for maintenance next Thursday, May 3rd and next Friday, May 4th. Uniprint services will be back up and functional by Saturday, May 5th.

Attention Banner users: 

Internet Native Banner (INB) (http://www.umflint.edu/banner) will be unavailable due to a system upgrade starting Friday, February 9 at 8pm through Monday, February 12 at 6am.  Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

This upgrade does NOT affect the SIS website (www.umflint.edu/sis).

Please be aware that you may need to run some type of installation before using INB after the upgrade – more information to follow.

ITS will be performing maintenance on various systems over Winter Break.  Below is a list of what systems will be affected along with the date each maintenance will be performed.

 Monday, Dec. 25 – Network down starting at 10pm (All network systems will be intermittently unavailable during this time)
Tuesday, Dec 26 – Network remaining down until 12am (All network systems will be intermittently unavailable during this time)
Wednesday, Dec 27 – SIS down from 8am until 8pm (This will only affect the Student Information System)
Thursday, Dec 28 – No network outage
Friday, Dec 29 – No network outage
Saturday, Dec 30 – Network down from 8a until 8pm (All network systems will be intermittently unavailable during this time)

The SIS website (www.umflint.edu/sis), Banner, and Banner Reports (like SSEM2000) will be unavailable due to a system upgrade starting Thursday, February 23 at 8pm through Monday, February 27.  We anticipate the systems will be available on Tuesday, February 28 at 8am.

The UM-Flint wireless network will be unavailable in the Mott Harding University Center (UCEN) on July 11th and 12th. The office of Information Technology Services (ITS) is beginning the process of upgrading the wireless network, starting with the University Center. A key component of the upgrade process is performing a wireless survey, which requires that the current wireless equipment be turned off in the survey area.  

Any faculty or staff member based in the UCEN, who uses a non-mobile wireless connection as their sole link to the campus computer network, is asked to contact Erik Taipalus in ITS (erikt@umflint.edu) so that arrangements can be made for a temporary network connection. This does not apply to laptop computers, but primarily to desktop computers that are using only wireless to connect to the network. Full wireless services will be available in all other campus buildings.

 Thank you for your understanding during this important upgrade process.

Attention UM-Flint Faculty, Staff, and Students:

During Spring Break, ITS will conduct network maintenance on ThursdayMarch 3rd from 10pm until 6am on Friday, March 4th.  All network services maybe unavailable during this timeframe, including but not limited to email, progdata, departmental & personal home drives, and SIS.  The only service that will be unaffected during this time is dial-up to the Internet.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the ITS HelpDesk at (810) 766-6804 or email at ITSHelpDesk@umflint.edu.

Important: Emergency downtime scheduled for this evening!

The SIS website (www.umflint.edu/sis), Banner, Banner Reports (like SSEM2000), TouchNet (online credit card payments) and WebSam (computer account manager) will be down for emergency maintenance Monday, January 24 at 9pm until midnight.  This means that these systems will be unavailable during this time.  Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Please be advised that access to ITS services* will be unavailable December 29th from 8:00am until Midnight for server maintenance and upgrades.  Blackboard will only be unavailable from Noon until Midnight on December 29th.

 

*All services accessed from both on and off campus including email, departmental (i:) & personal home (h:) drives, Progdata, Banner, SIS, and UM-Flint webpages will be unavailable during maintenanceMost systems will not be affected for more then one hour at a time.  Merit dialup access to sites off campus will not be affected.

UM-Flint Internet services will be unavailable on Friday, November 26th, from approximately 7 AM - 9 AM due to fiber maintenance.  Access from the Internet to our campus and our University resources such as the UM-Flint website, SIS, Blackboard and Outlook email will not be accessible.  We apologize for this inconvenience.
