Banner is an administrative database that houses all student-related data; essentially tracking student activity from recruitment to graduation. It provides data integrity, accessibility and flexibility for enhanced decision-making, and improved service to students. The Banner database is directly linked with our online Student Information Services (SIS), which allows for web-registration and web-based faculty grade submission. Students can now make credit card payments online.

The client-server Banner Application was phased out because Oracle and SCT no longer support the older client-server technology. This technology was replaced with internet-native or web-based Banner.  Internet Native Banner, referred to as INB, is web-based, meaning users can access Banner using a web browser such as Internet Explorer. This eliminates the need for you to use the Banner icon on your desktop.  Please consult Quicknote #30 for more information.

Note: This change has no affect on your access to the Student Information System (SIS) website.

To obtain a Banner ID and password, you must first submit an online Access Request form and then complete the self-paced, computer-based training.  After your form and CBT score have been received, your ID will be emailed to you.  ID requests may take up to two business days to process. 

If you should ever need access to additional Banner forms or tables you must complete an Access Change Request form.  After approval of the change has been received, access will be granted.

Banner has scheduled times of unavailability every Saturday evening 9pm to Midnight for backups and on the third Sunday of every month for system upgrades and maintenance.  The SIS website, Banner, WebSam and student computer id creation will also be unavailable during these times.
