  • If you have forgotten your PIN, and you have already supplied your personal Security Question, then simply enter your User ID and click the Forgot PIN? button at the bottom of your login page to answer your security question and reset your PIN.
  • If you have not yet supplied a Security Question, you may call the Academic Advising Office at 810-762-3085 to have your PIN reset.

PIN Errors:

  • If you encounter a message that tells you your Web Access has been disabled, you may have tried to log in 3 times with an incorrect PIN number.  To remedy this, please call the Academic Advising Office at 810-762-3085 to have your PIN reset.
  • If you encounter a message that says your PIN is expired, you will be prompted to change your PIN.  Enter your current (expired) PIN in the first field and enter a new PIN of your choice in the next two fields, then click Login again. Your PIN must be exactly 6 characters.

Uniqname Info:
  • Your UNIQNAME (pronounced "unique name") is a personal identifier that is required for using computing services across the U-M campuses.  You must have a UNIQNAME in order to use the computers on campus or to dial in to the University's modems from home.  You do not need a UNIQNAME to use SIS.  You can access the SIS website if you have an internet connection through your own internet service provider.

  • UNIQNAME’s are assigned to new students once they are admitted. A New Student’s “Campus Computer Account” is also created upon the student’s admission into the University.  New students may activate their Campus Computer Account by following these directions:

Once you set your initial password, your UNIQNAME and your University email account information is displayed within SIS.  You may begin using the computers on campus and your email.

Registration Info:

The Add/Drop Classes page is used to register, waitlist, add or drop classes for the selected term up until the first day of the semester. Once the semester has begun, you may drop a class within SIS before the drop deadline. All other schedule changes must be made in the Registrar's Office using a signed add/drop form.  Click here for quick Instructions for Using SIS Web Registration.

  • To register or add a class, enter the Course Reference Number (CRN) in the Add Class table, then click Submit Changes.

  • To search for available courses, click Class Search.

  • To drop a class that appears in your Current Schedule, select Web Drop from the Action field, then click Submit Changes. If Web Drop does not appear in the Action list, then the class may not be dropped over the Web.
  • To waitlist for a class, enter the CRN in the Add Class table and click Submit Changes, then select Waitlist from the Action field under Registration Errors and click Submit Changes again.

  • To disenroll or cancel your enrollment, you must drop all courses that appear in your Current Schedule, or contact the office of the Registrar.

Trouble-shooting Tips:

If you are trying to access SIS from a network which is behind a firewall, you may receive a error – “Page Cannot Be Displayed” or "Access denied from access control list".  SIS uses a secure port (4443) which is blocked by default by any corporate firewall. You may need to contact your IT dept have them unblock port 4443, which would then allow you to access SIS website.  (If this solution does not resolve the problem, then you may not be able to access SIS from that network. Please try accessing SIS from a different network like your home computer or a computer on campus.)
  • Do not use the browser buttons to navigate through SIS. Instead, use the navigation buttons and links provided on the web pages.

  • For faster access to the SIS site, you should clear your temporary internet files.

    • Mozilla Firefox users click tools, select Options.  In the left side of the window select Privacy. In the right side of the window select Cache and click on Clear button.

    • Internet Explorer users click Tools, select Internet Options.  Make sure the General tab is selected.  You will see a Temporary Internet Files section near the middle of the window.  Click the Delete Files button.

  • Press and hold the <Shift> key and click the Reload or Refresh icon on your web browser to see the most recent version of a web page.  This will be helpful to see any immediate changes to your schedule.

  • Some page printouts may be cut-off due to the width. To capture all data on a page, from the File menu select Print.  In the Print window press the Properties button.  Now select Landscape and click Apply.

Once you are connected to AOL, you may minimize AOL and run one of these browsers to access the SIS website.

Parental Controls

Some AOL users may have difficulty accessing our site if they have Parental Controls set on their account.  If this applies to you, see if the control can be lifted, or connect to AOL under a different screen name.
