Downloading Copyrighted Material from the Internet

Copyright laws exist to protect the works of individuals.  By breaking these laws you are denying another individual the right to profit from his/her own work.  Would you want someone to take something you had done and profit from it?

Breaking copyright laws can have serious consequences.  Depending on the degree to which the law was violated the punishments can range from fines to jail time (or both).  Fines are typically at least $30,000 per song, game, movie or program that you downloaded.
