Classroom Visits
Attention faculty: The LGBT Center is here for your needs, too! In addition to assisting with UM-Flint based LGBT issues such as health benefits and lodging a bias-motivated complaint, we can help you out in the classroom! The LGBT Center staff and volunteers are available for to come into your class and speak on a number of issues related to LGBT experiences. Past discussions have included panel discussions on what it is like to come out as lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender, sexual orientation and language variation, hate crimes, and many more. Also, if we are informed of your desire to invite us early enough, we can tailor any speaking engagement to fit the needs of your particular field. For example, we could speak on biological research on sexual orientation in a Biology course, or the role of LGBT consumers in major corporations. We ask for at least two weeks of advanced notice for individually-tailored discussions for preparations.

Safer Sex Tables and Workshops
Meet us on the third floor of UCEN every Wednesday between 11 and 1 for free latex or non-latex condoms, dental dams, lube, female condoms, and safer-sex packets. Learn how to correctly apply a condom, how to make a homemade dental dam, or tons of tidbits on having a safe yet fun sex life!
Also, if your student group is looking for an event, consider having the LGBT Center put on a safer-sex workshop one night. Free safer-sex packets will be provided, and a frank and fun conversation about ways to keep yourself safe sexually are guaranteed. For more information contact us at dept.lgbt-center@umflint.edu.
LGBT Discussion Group
Join us for a bi-weekly discussion group at the LGBT Center! Discussion topics vary from session to session, but all revolve around some aspect of being a sexual and/or gender minority or an ally to the LGBT communities. It is an open yet guided forum to discuss issues pertinent to our lives.
THIS EVENT IS FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
Each session begins at 7:00 PM and can last up to 9:00 depending on discussion topic. Please join us these days during the winter semester:
