University of Michigan-Flint

Recruitment

  • Need job experience?
  • Need something impressive on your resume?

If you are enrolled at the University of Michigan-Flint, and can commit yourself to working a minimum of two semesters, then you need to talk to the people at the Frances Willson Thompson Library.

We can arrange a schedule around your classes. Apply quickly before your time slot is filled! Applications are always accepted.

We offer valuable work experience. Student employees are responsible members of our Circulation Department, Interlibrary Loan, Reference Department, Technical Services Department, and the Media Collection.

Duties might include direct contact with students, faculty and the general public at the Circulation Desk, where you learn the MIRLYN computerized catalog system. You will learn the Library of Congress book identification system, and general stacks management techniques. Technical Services processes all library materials and makes them available for end users.

A shift premium is offered for evening hours.

Stop by and ask for an application!

IMPORTANT NOTE: AT THIS TIME, ONLY WORK-STUDY STUDENTS ARE BEING HIRED AT THE THOMPSON LIBRARY.
