Off-Campus Access to Library Resources - EZProxy

To access restricted library databases from off campus, you must have a UM-Flint uniqname and LAN/campus password.

Whenever you want to use a restricted library resource, simply click on the link. If you are on campus, you will go directly into the resource. If you are off campus, a Thompson Library login screen will appear; enter your uniqname and LAN/Flint campus password, click “login,” and you should be able to use the resource.

There are three exceptions:

Mirlyn: You can search Mirlyn without logging in; however, some functions (such as permanently saving information) requires your Kerberos/Ann Arbor password.
Interlibrary Loan:. This requires your Kerberos/Ann Arbor password for login.
UM-MEDSEARCH:. This requires your Kerberos/Ann Arbor password for login.

Can’t get in using Internet Explorer?

If you can’t open files after logging in, or if you are asked to login repeatedly, you may need to make sure your computer accepts cookies. If you don’t want to do that, make sure that your computer will treat EZProxy as a “trusted site.”

To accept cookies:

Follow this path at the top of your IE toolbar:
Tools > Internet options > Privacy > Settings
Lower the setting one level (e.g. “medium high” to “medium”)

To treat EZProxy as a trusted site:

Follow this path at the top of your IE toolbar:
Tools > Internet options > Security > Trusted sites
Click on “Sites”
Uncheck the box “Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone”
Add http://libproxy.umflint.edu to the list
