Whether you are planning a trip for yourself or holding a conference for hundreds, the University of Michigan-Flint residence halls are available to meet your needs. The residence halls are located in the heart of downtown Flint, and central to the UM-Flint campus. Throughout the year, guests can enjoy the beautiful outdoor surroundings, explore museums and attractions, take nature walks, and enjoy the beauty campus offers. 

Faculty, staff and non-residential students at the University of Michigan-Flint are also welcome to utilize our guest services for overnight accommodations. 

Please be aware we are not accepting guest reservations for August 26th - September 3rd, and unless you are part of the Place Based Education Confernece guest housing is unavaialable November 7th-9th.

Stay On the UM-FLINT CAMPUS for:

Requests submitted with less than 24 hours notice may not be honored and are subject to an additional fee. Requests submitted after 5:00 p.m. M-F and on weekends are read and responded to within 2 businesses days.

We look forward to hosting you during your visit to campus and are delighted you have chosen to stay with us in Riverfront Residence Hall. Participants in the Place-Based Education Conference, taking place November 7-9, 2019, should use the form below to reserve a room.


Riverfront rooms are configured "suite style" in 3, 4, and 5 person configurations and are furnished with single beds, wardrobes, dressers, full kitchens, and cable/internet service. Each suite offers guests a private lockable bedroom with shared bathroom facilities (1.5 baths in 3 person suites, 2 bathrooms in 4+ person suites). Linens, towels, toiletry and coffee service is provided. 


The standard rate for a shared suite/shared bathroom is $45 per person/per night. Guests can request a variety of configurations for additional costs as detailed below. There is also opportunity for you to reserve a room at our "camp rate", for $30 per night, as detailed below.


Payment in full is due at time of arrival and can be made via check, money order, or credit card. Upon completion of this form a confirmation and invoice will be sent within 72 hours to the email provided.

CAPACITY & AMENITIES

The university's residence halls offer affordable housing throughout the year. Residence halls are within easy walking distance to our on-campus meeting areas and downtown Flint.

The university's residence halls can accommodate individuals or groups up to 120 people during the months of September - April. During the months of May - August, individuals or groups up to 600 can be accommodated.

Hall amenities include:

  • Dedicated staff available 24/7 during your stay

  • Vending machines
  • Community Kitchen, gaming, and lounge areas
  • 60 person auditorium/movie theater
  • Mulitpurpose meeting/classroom spaces

Rooms are set-up suite style, giving each guest their own bedroom while sharing the common areas with other guests. Each suite has a kitchenette, living space, and breakfast bar or dinning room table. A typical bedroom comes with an extra-long twin bed, desk, chair, wardrobe, and a chest of drawers.

POLICIES

General Policies

Decorations and/or displays must not compromise public safety or increase the risk of property damage.

The group or individual is financially responsible for any special or excessive clean-up or damages resulting from the event, meeting or activity.

Due to the nature of our facilities and proximity to other guests, noise levels must be kept to a minimum. Quiet Hours in the Residence Hall are: Sunday–Thursday, 10 p.m.–8 a.m. Friday–Saturday, 12 a.m.–9 a.m

All groups wishing to claim a tax exemption must provide appropriate documentation prior to the reservation date.

RATES

Individual Rates

Youth & University of Michigan student RATE*

$27.00 per guest, per night - Guests under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult at all times in the Residence Halls. Please see http://childrenoncampus.umich.edu/ for more information.

Adult Rate*

$30.00 per guest, per night; $45.00 per guest, per night in our queen bed spaces.

*First set of linen is free. Linen includes extra-long twin fitted sheet, flat sheet, blanket, pillow with case, towel, and washcloth. There is a fee for additional linen requests. Towels can be exchanged every 2 days at no cost, and bed linens every week at no cost.

Group Rates: Please contact the Associate Director of Housing and Guest Services to inquire about group or adjusted rates.

Renting additional space:  Our residence halls have additional storage and/or lounge spaces available for an additional fee and many halls have common space available free of charge. If you are interested in additional space for meetings, recreation, instruction. etc. please contact the Associate Director of Housing and Guest Services. Available spaces include:

  • Community Kitchen and Dining spaces (open to all guests/residents but available for private reservation)
  • Multipurpose meeting and instruction rooms
  • Media Screening room/Theater (60 seats)
  • Small group meeting spaces/lounges
  • Game Rooms

*Limited services and support for technology equipment use, set up, as well as catering services can be requested.

 

Guest Housing FAQ

When is guest housing available?

Housing is available year round in select units.

How do I check in for my stay?

Check-in is located at the Residence Hall front desk, and is available after 3 p.m. on the first day of your reservation.

Where do I park?

If staying in Riverfront  Hall, parking is available in the Riverfront Ramp for $5.00/day. If staying in First Street Hall, parking is available in the Mill Street Ramp. Please inquire about our Group & Conference parking availability and rates. **From May 1 - Sept 1 Mill Street will be under construction, First Street Guests can park in Lot A or Harrison Street Parking Ramp**

What time is check-out?

Check-out is at or before noon on the last day of your reservation. All keys/passcards should be returned to the front desk; there is a replacement charge for lost, damaged, or unreturned keys/cards.

If I need to do laundry during my stay, is there a place to do so?

Laundry is located on the first floor student center in Riverfront  Hall and on each guest floor in First Street Hall.
