MFUSE Parking & Directions
Driving Directions
Concert Location
The concert is being held in Parking Lot A, which is the flat lot adjacent to the Recreation Center and the Flint River. Due to the set-up of a large stage area, it is necessary for Lot A to be closed beginning at midnight on the evening of April 14th. All cars will need to be removed from Lot A by that time so the set-up for the concert can begin the morning of April 15th. Lot A will re-open for student parking at 6:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 17. Also, parking in the Hubbard Building parking lot will be closed on April 16th, only.
Parking Options
With Lot A's closure, on-campus parking April 15th will be tight and April 16th parking will be at a premium. Parking for persons with disabilities will be available in the Mill Street Parking deck both days.
Student, faculty and staff parking will be available as follows on these days:
Tuesday, April 15th:
replacement Lot A parking will be available in the north William S. White parking lot, with parking for persons with disabilities available in the Mill Street parking deck.
Wednesday, April 16th:
replacement Lot A parking for students, faculty and staff will be available in the north William S. White parking lot , the former International Institute parking lot and the Farmer's Market parking lot where Mass Transit Authority (MTA) will provide additional large bus transportation from the Farmer's Market to regular campus stops. This is in addition to MTA's normal campus route. Replacement parking for persons with disabilities will be available in the Mill Street parking deck.
In addition to these options, please take this opportunity to bike, or share a ride to campus and carpool.
Road Closures
On April 16th, from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., some roads around the university will be closed and vehicular traffic will be restricted to accommodate the concert venue, including East Blvd beginning at the Post Office and Mill Street beginning at Kearsley. In addition, access to the Mill Street parking deck during this time will be limited to the Campus Drive entry and exit via Chavez.
We appreciate your understanding and patience as we execute this signature event for the campus. We realize that parking may be difficult on these dates, but the normal parking situation will be restored as soon as possible. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Jennifer Hogan at jhogan@umflint.edu.
