Creating Equitable & Inclusive Classrooms: Addressing Microaggressions and Facilitating Difficult Dialogues

Diane J. Goodman, Ed.D. has been teaching, training and consulting about issues of diversity and social justice for over 30 years. Diane has done training and consulting with a wide range of organizations, Universities, schools, and community groups.  She has been a professor at several universities in the areas of education, psychology, social work, and women’s studies.  In addition, she was the Director of Human Relations Education and the Interim Affirmative Action Officer at the University of Rhode Island. Diane regularly presents at national and international conferences.  She is the author of the book Promoting Diversity and Social Justice: Educating People from Privileged Groups, 2nd ed. (Routledge, 2011), co-editor and contributor to Teaching for Diversity and Social Justice 3rd ed. (Routledge, 2016) and several other articles and book chapters.  Her website is www.dianegoodman.com.

Qualifies for 1.5 State Continuing Education Clock Hours (SCECHs) via the Michigan Department of Education.
