The Skinny

UM-Flint is among 152 institutions located in 12 states receiving the Best in the Midwest designation in the 2011 edition.

The Princeton Review has again selected the University of Michigan-Flint a Best Midwestern College in the 2011 Best Colleges: Region by Region school selections.

Robert Franek, Princeton Review’s senior vice president said in making the selection, “…we name as ‘regional best’ colleges mainly for their excellent academic programs. We also take into account what students at the schools reported to us.”
UM-Flint is among 152 institutions located in 12 states receiving the Best in the Midwest designation in the 2011 edition.

“We have a proud tradition of excellence that is being recognized beyond our local communities,” said UM-Flint Chancellor Ruth J. Person. “Besides being the “fastest-growing public university in the state, we can now add this regional recognition for the ninth year in a row.”

For this project, The Princeton Review asks students to rate their schools on several issues–from the accessibility of their professors to quality of the campus food–and answer questions about themselves, their fellow students, and their campus life on an 80-question survey.
