For three years running (2007-09), enrollment at the University of Michigan-Flint has increased by a higher percentage than any other public university in the state of Michigan. This spring, UM-Flint will see its largest-ever graduating class.

According to Jennifer Hogan, UM-Flint’s Director of University Relations, “We understand there are many reasons that help explain why this institution has had the largest percentage gain in enrollment among the state’s fifteen public universities each of the last three years. A lot of credit goes to our Offices of Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions. We also understand bigger does not mean better. However, being better can have a big impact, and there are a number of areas in which UM-Flint improved, and grown, in recent years.”

UM-Flint has launched a new site (www.umflint.edu/growing) that highlights several of these areas; including: the growing number of academic programs, growing undergraduate research opportunities, growing international representation, growing campus life thanks in large part to new student housing, stronger community connections, and Flint’s emerging “college town” atmosphere.
