The Skinny

Are you a member of an organization that has some new t-shirts that were left-over from a past event? Don’t let them just sit there!

Leadership Genesee participants, including the Crim Fitness Foundation, Hurley Medical Center, the American Cancer Society, and the University of Michigan-Flint, have joined forces to gather a supply of t-shirts to send to Haiti in support of ongoing relief efforts. Local organizations are invited to join by searching their supply closets for left over t-shirts that can be donated.

Local organizations are invited to join by searching their supply closets for left over t-shirts that can be donated.

Drop off locations will accept donations until April 31 and include: The lobby of the William S. White Building at 508 Harrison Street on the University of Michigan-Flint campus, and Resource Genesee at 1401 S Grand Traverse St. The t-shirts will be transported to a local aid organization in Miami for delivery to Haiti later this spring.

“Haiti will be in need of our support for months and years, to come,” stated Barbara Kornblau, dean of the University of Michigan-Flint School of Health Professions and Studies. “While local health professionals have already travelled to Haiti to provide immediate health services, Leadership Genesee wanted to find a way for the broader community to show our support.”

For more information regarding this initiative, or to drop off t-shirts, contact Lindsey Younger, Leadership Genesee, at 810-232-6253.
