A UM-Flint project was among those named by the AmericanConcrete Pavement Association (ACPA) as a recipients of its 20th Annual “Excellence inConcrete Pavement Awards,” the concrete pavement industry’s most prestigiousrecognition of quality in concrete pavement placement and rehabilitation.
The Kearsley Street Reconnect, completed in late2008, was selected after competing locally and nationally with hundredsof excellent projects, according to the ACPA. The new street was chosenas the Silver Winner in the Municipal Streets & Intersections category.
The Awards recognize the contractors,engineers, and owners whose efforts yielded the best pavementsin airports, highways, and street and road applications in 2008, asdetermined by an independent panel of judges.
The project was funded bya grant from the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation.
