Undergraduate Research moves to under the Capital Dome

Students from the University of Michigan’s three campuses (Flint, Dearborn, and Ann Arbor), Michigan State University, and Wayne State University will celebrate the contributions undergraduate students are making to the State of Michigan through their engagement in cutting edge research at the sixth annual Michigan Undergraduate Research Forum to be held at the State Capitol in Lansing on Wednesday, March 24.

Students from the University of Michigan’s three campuses (Flint, Dearborn, and Ann Arbor), Michigan State University, and Wayne State University will celebrate the contributions undergraduate students are making to the State of Michigan through their engagement in cutting edge research at the sixth annual Michigan Undergraduate Research Forum to be held at the State Capitol in Lansing on Wednesday, March 24. From 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m., 12 students from the universities will present the important role of undergraduate research in higher education, as well as underscore the role of research in addressing critical state issues and needs. The student’s presentations will cover a wide range of issues; from the impact of business incubators in spurring Michigan’s future economy to healthcare disparities, medical advances in treating stroke patients, technological advances for auto electrification, to environmental sustainability, education, and prison reform. The event will be held in House Committee Room 424 in the State Capitol Building. It is free and open to the public.


The University of Michigan’s three campuses will be represented by Sita Syal, ( East Lansing), Christy Steftke, (Gibralter), ElizabethShnerpunas,(Garden City), Mona Kadouh,( Dearborn, Heights) , Cameron Waites (Flint), and Andrea Garber (Brighton).
