Physical Therapy Student Awards

Academic Excellence Award The Physcial Therapy Department values excellence in academic performance. This award is given to a student who not only achieves a high GPA in the DPT program, but who also seeks knowledge through persistent academic curiosity and love of learning.

Outstanding Service Award Participatory citizenship is highly valued at the University of Michigan-Flint and in the DPT program. This award recognizes the contributions that a DPT student has made to the DPT program, physical therapy profession, or broader community.

Outstanding Courageous Student Award Many students face unusual or challenging circumstances as they progress through the DPT program. This award honors a student who faced unusual or challenging circumstances and showed mettle in persisting to successfully complete the program.

Outstanding Student Clinician Award Professionalism and success in delivering evidence-based care in physical therapy are central features of the DPT program. This award recognizes a student who excelled in clinical decision-making and professionalism during their final clinical internships.

The Cindy Pfalzer Physical Therapy Horizons Award This award recognizes a post-professional student who is an advocate for the profession, contributing substantially to the profession through service and/or scholarship, exemplifying the core values and skills of the profession, and reflecting the characteristics of being a lifelong learner.

 

Public Health & Health Sciences Student Awards

The Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology Outstanding Student Award is presented to a senior student enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology Program at The University of Michigan-Flint with a minimum GPA of 3.5 and at least 30 hours completed within the program. This student has demonstrated a record of research and service, and professional behavior in and out of the classroom.

 

The Bachelor of Science in Health Care Administration Outstanding Student Award is presented to a student with senior standing enrolled in the Bachelor of Science Health Care Administration program at The University of Michigan-Flint.  The student must have completed a minimum of at least 18 credit hours in Health Care Administration with a minimum GPA of 3.5. In addition, the student must have a demonstrated record of service, and excellent leadership skills and modeled professional behavior in and out of the classroom.   

 

The Bachelor of Science in Health Education / Public Health Outstanding Student Award is presented to a student with senior standing enrolled in the Bachelor of Science Health Education or Public Health program at The University of Michigan-Flint.  The student must have completed a minimum of at least 18 credit hours in Health Education / Public Health with a minimum GPA of 3.5. In addition, the student must have a demonstrated record of service, and excellent leadership skills and modeled professional behavior in and out of the classroom. Further more, the student must be a member of Eta Sigma Gamma.

 

The Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences Outstanding Student Award is presented to a student with senior standing enrolled in the Bachelor of Science Health Sciences program at The University of Michigan-Flint.  The student must have completed a minimum of at least 18 credit hours in Health Sciences with a minimum GPA of 3.5. In addition, the student must have a demonstrated record of service, and excellent leadership skills and modeled professional behavior in and out of the classroom.   

 

The Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences Honors Program Outstanding Student Award is presented to a student with senior standing enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences Honors Program at The University of Michigan-Flint.  The student must have completed a minimum of at least 18 credit hours in Health Sciences with a minimum GPA of 3.5. In addition, the student must have a demonstrated record of service, and excellent leadership skills and modeled professional behavior in and out of the classroom.   

 

The Bachelor of Science in Radiation Therapy Outstanding Student Award is presented to a student in the last semester of the Radiation Therapy Program at The University of Michigan-Flint.  The student must have a minimum GPA of 3.8, and be a student member of Lambda Nu, and the Radiation Therapy Student Organization.  In addition, the student must have a demonstrated record of service, must have demonstrated the importance of lifelong learning.
