Where do you want to study next year?
“I wanted to participate in NSE because I wanted to experience what education was like at another school. I want to gain more “street smarts” as in what it’s like to take care of myself. My whole family is in Flint, so if I ever need help someone who loves me is always just a phone call away-this experience in Hawai’i will challenge that.
When I get to Hawai’i I am most excited to experience a winter with no snow. For the first time in my life it will be warm on my birthday! I am also very excited about all of the new and different foods that I will be able to try. I love sea food and since Hawai’i is surrounded by the sea, the food will be AMAZING. The final thing that I am looking forward to is my participation in a play as part of the Theatre department down at University of Hawai’i. I have never done any theatre outside of Flint, so the different directing style and audience will be quite the experience.” ~ Alexis Harvey, Theatre & French Major at UM-Flint exchanging to University of Hawaii at Manoa
“I’m most excited about experiencing big city living. New York City is a big place and I can’t wait to explore it. I hope to gain insight on myself, my likes and dislikes, and where I would like to live in the future. I wanted to be a part of the NSE because it will allow me to immerse myself in a new culture that I may want to live in permanently someday. It also allows me to experience different instructors and how they perceive the field of psychology.” ~ Jamie Staudacher, Psychology Major at UM-Flint exchanging to Queens College, CUNY, New York, Fall and Winter Semesters 2014/2015
