Meet Our Mentors
Darnita Evans

Darnita is currently a critical care nurse case manager at Hurley Medical Center. She has worn many other hats in her nursing career taking on roles such as: cardiac nurse, psychiatric nurse, medical-surgical nurse and forensic nurse in the Genesee County Correctional Facility. When Darnita is not working, she spends time with her sorority – Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and in her roles as V.P. of the Greater Flint Black Nurses Assoc. and chair of Hurley Medical Center’s African-American Heritage Health Promotion Committee.
Tamar Pleasant-Swain

Tamar is manager of the Case Management Department at McLaren Regional Medical Center. She is a graduate of University of Michigan’s nursing program in Ann Arbor Michigan and has recently completed a MBA degree. Tamar’s favorite past-times are sleeping, eating and watching movies.
Terry Brannon

Terry is employed at Faith Access to Community Economic Development (F.A.C.E.D.) as a coordinator for maternal/infant health services. Prior to her employment with FACED, Terry spent 18 years working in a high risk labor and delivery unit and 10 years as director of a busy ambulatory care clinic. Her hobbies include: reading mystery novels, creating greeting cards, guilt-making and volunteering at community-based health fairs.
