The Associate Director of Undergraduate Programs (Job# 32003)

This position encompasses administrative, faculty and advisor roles and provides leadership of the undergraduate programs-Traditional/Four Year Major, RN/BSN, and Accelerated Second Degree.  The Associate Director will serve as the catalyst to enhance our undergraduate programs and join a strong leadership team in providing positive direction for the Department of Nursing.

Candidates for this position must have the following minimum qualifications: an earned doctorate in Nursing or a related field; MSN is desirable; teaching scholarship and service accomplishments commensurate with rank of assistant, associate or full professor at hire; leadership experience in an academic setting; evidence of supporting faculty governance and collegial decision-making and problem solving; ability to work effectively in multicultural settings with a commitment to diversity; success in obtaining external funding; strong interpersonal and written communication skills; and possession or eligibility for a Michigan RN license.

Assistant/Associate Professor of Nursing (Job# 35559)

Responsibilities include teaching at the undergraduate (BSN and RN/BSN online) and graduate levels (DNP online and MSN to DNP online), student advising, involvement in scholarly and professional activities, and participation in university service. Opportunity for scholarship and practice exist in the Urban Health and Wellness Center which is an academic health center.

Minimum qualifications include an earned doctorate in Nursing or a related field;  national certification as a nurse practitioner (NP);  strong clinical experience as a FNP, ANP, or PMHNP;  demonstrated ability teaching at a post-secondary level;  teaching, scholarship, and service accomplishments commensurate with rank of assistant or associate professor at hire; ability to work effectively in multicultural settings with a commitment to diversity among faculty, staff and students; strong interpersonal and written communication skills; and possession or eligibility for a Michigan RN license.

 

Both candidates should have the following desired qualifications: online teaching experience; evidence of commitment to student-centered education; experience in interdisciplinary teaching and scholarship; ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students; demonstrates commitment and patterns of success in working with diverse populations and non-traditional learners; experience in grant writing.
