Undergraduate Programs
The traditional Basic BSN program is designed for pre-RN licensure undergraduate students. This is a full-time, six-semester program in which students are admitted to a “cohort” group. The core nursing program courses for this program are offered on campus during the fall and winter semesters. Applications are accepted twice per year with deadlines in September for winter admission and January for fall admission. Students must submit an application to the Department of Nursing and obtain acceptance to the University. Advising prior to acceptance is provided through the Academic Advising Center located in the University Pavilion. For more information, visit the Basic BSN program website.
Pre-nursing students receive all of their advising and program requirement information through the Academic Advising Center located in the University Pavilion. For the Traditional program our average applicant pool is usually from 100-150 students for 40 seats and admits twice a year. For the ASD Program we admit once a year and the average applicant pool is usually around 100 students for 32 seats. This is a competitive, blind admission process. Pre-nursing students are encouraged to attend the information sessions prior to application to the program to ensure they have the most up-to-date information regarding the application process. Please contact an advisor in the Academic Advising Center for more details.
Accelerated Second Degree (ASD) BSN
The ASD BSN program is designed for students who have already earned a bachelor’s degree or higher in a non-nursing field. The ASD BSN program is a full-time, 16-month program in which students are admitted to a “cohort” group. Nursing courses for this program are offered on campus during the fall, winter, spring and summer semesters. Applications are accepted once per year with a deadline in January for fall admission. Advising prior to acceptance is provided through the Academic Advising Center located in the University Pavilion. For more information, please visit the ASD BSN program website.
The RN/BSN completion program is designed for registered nurses holding a Diploma in Nursing or an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) who have a current, unencumbered nursing license. There is no formal application to the RN/BSN program, but RNs must meet stated prerequisite requirements to begin the core nursing curriculum. The University offers rolling admissions which allows students to begin prerequisite coursework during the fall, winter, spring or summer semester. The deadline for each semester is determined by the Office of Admissions. Advising for this program is provided through the Department. For more information, please visit the RN/BSN program website.
The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) programs are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) through 2016.
