Creating a Test or Survey from a Pool

This helpguide will walk you through the steps in Test Manager, but the same steps can be taken in Survey Manager.

Step 1: Click on the Control Panel link and go to the appropriate manager. If you plan on exporting a test, choose Test Manager, or a survey, Survey Manager.

Step 2: Click on the Add Test button.

Step 3: This will bring you to a test information page. On this page you will enter a test Name, Description, and Instructions.

Step 4: Click Submit to move on to the Test Canvas where you will set options and add questions to the test.

Step 5: To choose options for the test, click Creation Settings.

Step 6: Click on the desired settings. Each of these items will be added officially when you create your questions for your test.

Note: Because we plan on importing questions from a pool, make sure to set the default point value here first.

Step 7: Click Submit to return to the Test Canvas.

Step 8: To add questions from a pool choose From a Question Pool of Assessment from the dropdown menu and click Go.

Step 9: Choose the test or pool to add questions from. Then select the question types to browse.

Step 10: Check the box to the left of the questions you wish to add to your test. Then click the submit button at the bottom of the page.

Step 11: Once all questions are added, click at the bottom of the page. This will bring you back to the test manager, and the test you created will be listed.

Step 12: The test must be deployed before the students can take it. To deploy the test, click on the Control Panel and go to the content area you want the test available in, such as Assignments.

Step 13: Click the Add Test button.

Step 14: Select the test to deploy from the menu, and click the Submit Button at the bottom of the page.

Step 15: Click after the receipt of success displays. Now you have the Option to Modify the Test, or Modify the Test Options. Clicking Modify the Test will bring you to the Test Canvas to modify the questions, instructions, or description.

Step 16: Click Modify the Test Options to set Availability, Options, Feedback, and Presentation. Once all Test Options are set, your test is ready. Click the Submit Button at the Bottom of the page to save your changes, and then click .
