Sending an E-mail

E-mails can be sent to instructors, fellow students or group members within Blackboard. Sent e-mails are not retained by the Blackboard System. To send an e-mail from Blackboard:

Step 1: Click on Communication on the Course Menu or Organization Menu.

Step 2: Click Send E-mail.

Step 3: Choose the recipients of your E-mail.

Step 4: Enter the title of the email in the Subject text box. Then enter your message in the Message text box.

A copy of your message will automatically be sent to you, the sender.

Step 5: If you would like to add an attachment, click on the Attach a file link.

Step 6: Click on the Submit button to send your e-mail. You will receive a receipt page that notifies that your e-mail was sent successfully to the listed users.

Step 7: Click the OK button to close the receipt page. Click the OK button to go back to the Communications area.

Users can also access the Send Email feature for all of their courses and organizations through the Tools box on the My UMFlint tab.
