Add a Test

Tests can be inserted into any content area of your Blackboard course.

Step 1: Click on the control panel link and choose the content area in which you would like to add the test. If you wish to place the test in a subfolder, then navigate to that folder.

Step 2: Click on the Add Test button shown on the far right in the image below.

Step 3: When you see this screen, you will have two options. The first is to create a new test. (See the help guide for creating a test.) The second option is to select a test that you have previously created.

Step 4: Click on the button to Add your item. You will receive a confirmation receipt. Click the button to close the window.

Modifying a Deployed Test:

A deployed (activated) test is one that has been created and inserted into a content area of your course.

Step 1: After a test has been added and deployed, you can change the test options. Click the Modify button to the right of the test you wish to modify.

Step 2: Click on Modify the Test Options.

Step 3: Under the first heading, you can choose to change the name and description of the test.

Step 4: The second heading involves Test Availability. Here you can set the test to be immediately available or specify the dates on which you want the test to become available, as well as when it should end. You can also set the test to force completion or allow multiple attempts, as well as set a test timer and/or password.

Step 5: The Test Feedback section is where you can set what the student will see when he/she is finished taking the exam. The choices are: Score Only; Detailed Results; Show Correct Answers; and Detailed Results, Correct Answers, and Feedback.

Step 6: The fourth section allows you to decide whether to display all questions at once or one question at a time. If you choose to display only one question at a time, you can also choose to prohibit backtracking. Furthermore, you can choose to randomize the questions, so that each student will receive the questions in a different order from the others in the class.

Step 7: Click the button to save any changes.
