Files can be uploaded in their original format (such as .doc or .ppt documents) from your computer or from the Blackboard Content System. Students are then able to open or download the content to their computer.
Step 1: Access the Control Panel by clicking on the Control Panel button and choose the Content Area that you would like to add an Item in.
Step 2: Click on the Add Item button to add your desired Item.
Step 3: Type in the name of your item/subject or you may choose a title from the drop down box. Then you may choose your preferred color for the text of your item.
Step 4: After you have named your item, you may add text to describe your item. This text will be shown directly underneath your item. You may click Preview to look at your description of your item.
Step 5: If you wish to attach a file to your item, click on the first
button. Otherwise, skip to step 7.
Step 6: Locate the file on your computer that you wish to upload, and click Open.

In the Name of Link to File text field, type in the name you would like to give it on Blackboard. Then, choose a special action to perform.
Create a link to this file to attach the file to your Content Area . A link is automatically inserted below the title to access the file.
Display media file within the page to embed certain kinds of media within the page itself instead of creating a link. However, it must be an acceptable extension by Blackboard.
Unpackage this file: This is used if the file you are uploading is a .zip or other archived/compressed file.
Step 7: Set the options you want to your attached item.
Step 8: Click on the
button to add your item. You will receive a conformation receipt for adding the item. Click the
button to close this window.
