Orientation at the University is a mandatory program designed to facilitate a smooth transition to UM-Flint and assist you in making the most of your college experience. During orientation you will discuss UM-Flint with currently enrolled students, learn strategies to being successful in the University environment, and become orientated to your new surroundings. We will review policies and procedures including graduation requirements and financial aid. An orientation fee will be added to your fall tuition bill.
The Student Veterans Resource Center, based on feedback from our veterans, has evaluated the services we provide to incoming students. We have concluded it most beneficial for Veterans to first attend a Veterans Next Steps session, in addition to orientation, to discuss use of benefits, financial support, and other essentials related to Veterans Service.
