Experiential learning and service-learning are two High Impact Practices (HIPs) for improving student learning. These pedagogies engage students in applying course concepts and develop civic-minded learners.

The interactive Community Exchange workshop is held each fall semester and covers principles and best practices for these HIPs through a combination of presentation, faculty and community partner dialogues, and hands-on work with your course syllabus or emerging course ideas.

The workshop will draw on resources from the Service-Learning Manual for Faculty, which reviews the conceptual foundations of service-learning and steps for designing exemplary service-learning courses.
