The City of Flint invites all interested individuals to apply for a seat on a topic-based implementaion task group, which will assist the City with implementing the existing, approved Master Plan. UM-Flint strives to have at least one faculty or staff member on each task group, and encourages all interested faculty and staff to apply.

Implementation task groups involve 1-2 meetings per month with some preparation between meetings.

UM-Flint Impact Circle: Imagine Flint Master Plan Implementation

UM-Flint is launching an “impact circle” to galvanize research and academic service-learning connections related to the City of Flint’s new Imagine Flint Master Plan.

The Imagine Flint Master Plan is a visionary blueprint for 20+ years of future city planning and development, comprehensively addressing all aspects of city life.

Now in its implementation phase, the plan offers opportunities for faculty and students of all disciplines to research and apply learning to bring the plan to fruition. Current priority areas for plan implementation are neighborhood stabilization including housing; education and economic development including literacy; and environmental features.
