Payroll Deductions

University of Michigan-Flint faculty and staff may use the Payroll Deductions Form (PDF) to make gifts through payroll deductions.

Matching Gifts

Many employers match charitable donations, and some even match gifts two-to-one. Ask your employer if they match gifts to educational institutions; they will then provide you with a matching gift form to accompany your donation to University Outreach.

Pledges

Leadership gifts to University Outreach may be pledged over a two- to five-year period. If you are interested in a pledge, please contact Rebecca Pettengill at (810) 424-5449.

Gifts of Securites or Stock

Advantages of Gifts of Securities

• You get an income tax deduction based on the value of the securities at the time you make the gift.
• You avoid capital gains tax on the appreciated value of the securities.
• The University can immediately use the proceeds for the purpose you specify or for general support of essential initiatives.

Valuation

The value of your gift will be the average of the high and the low trading prices on the official date of your gift. The date of gift is the day the University assumes ownership of the security.
