Overview

The Value Added Civic Engagement Camp is a three-day camp designed to prepare students to be leaders in civic engagement.

UM-Flint faculty, staff and past camp participants will serve as facilitators as students explore principles and strategies of civic engagement that include:

  • Sustainable communities
  • Social entrepreneurship
  • Grant writing
  • Small group leadership
  • Collaboration
  • Problem solving
  • Methods for personal and professional reflection

University Outreach Covers:

  • Transportation to and from camp, which takes place at the Alden B. Dow Home and Studio and Grace A. Dow Memorial Library in Midland, MI
  • All meals and snacks
  • Camp learning materials
  • Two nights of lodging at the NADA Hotel
