We know that transitioning to university life can mean a big change for students as well as their families. As part of the UM-Flint community, your student will be supported in and out of the classroom and across our campus. We offer a wide range of student services aimed at connecting your student to the resources and guidance he or she needs to make the most of the university experience.

Academic Advising

Provided through our Student Success Center (SSC), academic advising guides your student to the best path for the degree he or she wants. Your student’s advisor will help with selecting the right courses and making a smooth transition to university life.

Student Life

UM-Flint has over 100 student-run organizations focused on a variety of academic, professional, recreational, cultural, and athletic interests. Year-round events, activities, exhibits, performances, and guest speakers also encourage your student to engage with the campus outside the classroom.

Campus Employment

UM-Flint offers a range of on-campus jobs for students in various departments throughout the university. Campus employment provides a great opportunity to gain valuable work experience while helping offset the cost of attending college.

Tutoring

Our walk-in tutor labs provide one-on-one help for a variety of academic courses and projects, as well as successful studying strategies. We also offer extra instruction for specific classes.
